I am African and Congo-Kinshasa is me
My Independence Day takes a double take
I have a little more at stake
Life filled with plenty plates
Rice and plantains
Dreaming on a different range
Mind in a whole other lane
Because I am like no other
Can't do it for me, success not for myself
Do better for everyone else, all the ones I can help
Better life, better beach,
Better seat on the throne
I'm far from home but I always know my culture flows through me
Queen blood, feign of the gilts and gold
And not the ones you know
The ones that show, the ones I'm sure will make my fame proud
Family, faith, happiness, success
Nothing less than the best
The life my mother couldn't give me
The life of better days
This is the African way
I am African and Congo-Kinshasa is me
